PIAAC 1st Cycle


For the PIAAC 1st Cycle, 39 countries/economies participated in the Survey of Adult Skills (PIAAC) between 2011-2018. Data was collected in three different rounds.

Round 2 (2014-15)

Chile, Greece, Indonesia, Israel, Lithuania, New Zealand, Singapore, Slovenia, Turkey

Round 3 (2017)

Ecuador, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Peru, United States






What is measured?

In the PIAAC 1st cycle, skills in three domains are measured:

  • literacy
  • numeracy
  • problem solving in technology-rich environments.
