26 June 2019: The Pesticides Risk Reduction Seminar provided a good opportunity for experts in OECD governments and stakeholders to share their knowledge, experience and possible concerns in the area of Evolving Digital and Mechanical Technologies for Pesticides and Pest Management.
GHSTS is a standardised set of technical specifications for assembling electronic files for pesticide registration in a predefined manner. Once assembled according to the GHSTS, the dossier files can be transferred from a business to a regulatory authority and can be used in a regulatory process. Version 2.0 includes improved lifecycle management of documents over a series of submissions for one pesticide (or other) regulatory action.
10-12 April 2019: The conference on RNA interference (RNAi) based pesticides will provide an overview of the current state of the knowledge of RNA interference (RNAi) as it relates to the potential use of this naturally occurring mode of action in agriculture. This will be an efficient route to this information for policy makers, particularly given the large volume of scientific information that is available in the literature.
The programme (or BioPesticides including microbials - bacteria, algae, protozoa viruses, fungi -, pheromones and semiochemicals, macrobials/invertebrates such as insects and nematodes, and plant extracts/botanicals) helps member countries to harmonise the methods and approaches used to assess biological pesticides.
Today, OECD Council adopted the Recommendation on Countering the Illegal Trade of Pesticides to strengthen cooperation between countries and inspectors and identify illegal pesticides throughout their lifecycle with a Best Practice Guidance.
