Launched at the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting in 2016 in response to growing demand from countries in the region, the OECD Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Programme (LACRP) provides a unique platform for evidence-based policy dialogue, bringing countries in the region closer to OECD standards, best practices and policy networks. In 2026, the Programme celebrates its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of strengthened co-operation between the OECD and Latin America and the Caribbean. Over this period, the LACRP has helped deepen the OECD’s partnership with the region by fostering high-level dialogue, supporting policy reforms, promoting peer learning, and creating opportunities for collaboration among governments, international organisations, the private sector and civil society. Through its work across productivity, social inclusion, governance and institutions, and environmental sustainability, the Programme has contributed to a more strategic, connected and impactful OECD-LAC relationship.
OECD Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Programme
In response to a greater demand for engagement of Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) countries with the OECD, the Latin American and the Caribbean Regional Programme (LACRP) supports the region to advance its reform agenda along four key priorities: increasing productivity, enhancing social inclusion, strengthening institutions and governance, and since 2021, ensuring environmental sustainability.
About the OECD Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Programme
Our mission
The Programme aims to support the LAC region in advancing its reform agenda along four key priorities of the region: increasing productivity, enhancing social inclusion, strengthening institutions and governance, and ensuring environmental sustainability.
How it works
The Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Programme promotes the exchange of best practices and mutual learning among policy makers from OECD and LAC countries, in the context of an annual Ministerial Summit.
The Programme facilitates engagement with international partners and projects across on the four priorities:
By encouraging productivity growth, LAC countries will be able to better support SMEs and increase participation in regional and global value chains.
By improving access to labour markets, skills, and better public transport and technology, LAC countries can ensure that economic growth benefits all.
By fostering good public governance and a strong culture of integrity, LAC countries can re-establish trust in public institutions.
By implementing environmentally sound policies and providing strong incentives for the sustainable management of natural resources and ecosystems, LAC countries can boost productivity and trade while promoting sustainability and redistributing wealth.
