Technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TF-GBV) extends the continuum of gender-based violence (GBV) into the digital sphere, manifesting in serious forms, such as non-consensual intimate image-sharing, stalking or hate messages. Public figures, particularly women in public life, are disproportionately targeted, often silenced or driven out of public spaces due to the scale and severity of online abuse. This policy paper maps responses to TF-GBV across G7 countries, providing insights into what works against TF-GBV. It focuses on four key areas: national strategic and legal frameworks; the regulation of online platforms; data collection mechanisms; and capacity-building for justice system actors. While progress is visible, gaps remain in harmonisation, enforcement, and evidence. The paper identifies promising practices and areas for strengthened efforts, aiming to support G7 governments in building comprehensive responses to TF-GBV.
