23 January 2026 – The Global Forum’s Women Leaders in Tax Transparency programme (WLiTT) proudly marks its fifth anniversary, celebrating half a decade of advancing women’s leadership in tax transparency, promoting gender equality and building a vibrant network of women committed to growing together and championing tax transparency across the world.
Over the past five years, more than 100 accomplished and dedicated women have enriched the programme through their expertise, commitment, and shared ambition to advance inclusive dialogue in the field of tax transparency. Grounded in trust, the programme fosters the exchange of professional and personal insights and plays a meaningful role in strengthening the confidence of all participating women.
Launched in 2022, the WLiTT programme has been a leading force in strengthening women’s participation in global tax transparency initiatives and ensuring their contributions in this field are recognised.
Since its inception, the programme has:
- empowered 102 women experts through leadership development, mentorship, and technical discussions on tax transparency topics,
- resulted in increased confidence, sense of empowerment, improved leadership and professional growth,
- helped develop national initiatives to promote gender‑responsive approaches in transparency and accountability efforts, ensuring women’s perspectives inform policy and practice,
- built a strong, collaborative network connecting 94 women across six regions, rich in cultures, experiences and professional backgrounds,
- provided a platform for dialogue and peer learning, helping dismantle barriers and champion inclusive leadership.
As the programme marks this milestone, its stakeholders recognise the contributions of the many women leaders, partners, and supporters who have driven its success. Their sustained commitment has strengthened the tax transparency community and furthered the broader objectives of equity, accountability, and sustainable development.
Looking ahead, WLiTT reaffirms its mission to expand its network, deepen engagement, and continue championing a future where women’s voices are central to transparency initiatives and transformative in shaping equitable tax systems.
The Global Forum is the leading multilateral body mandated to ensure that jurisdictions around the world adhere to and effectively implement the standard on transparency and exchange of information on request (EOIR) and the standards of automatic exchange of information (AEOI), covering financial accounts under the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and crypto-asset transactions under the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF). These objectives are achieved through robust monitoring and peer review processes. The Global Forum also runs an extensive capacity-building programme to support its members to implement the standards and help tax authorities make the best use of cross-border information sharing channels.
