This policy paper provides guidance to support the implementation of two of the G20/OECD High-Level Principles on Financial Consumer Protection: it outlines policy considerations and effective approaches to promote financial access and inclusion (Principle 3: Access and Inclusion) and ensure that financial products meet consumer needs and support financial well-being (Principle 8: Quality Financial Products). This guidance complements the Compendium of Effective Approaches for Financial Consumer Protection, which offers a toolbox for policymakers, regulators and supervisors to strengthen consumer protection frameworks.
