This paper, prepared jointly by the OECD and the WHO and presented at the G7 November 2024 High-level Meeting on Fostering International Co-operation on Antimicrobial Resistance under Italy’s presidency, develops an analysis focused on a One Health response to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and infection prevention and control (IPC) policies. It provides an updated overview of the global AMR burden and highlights the importance of a One Health response; presents a global overview of IPC interventions with a focus on G7 countries; and features a case study of Italy, indicating key strategic directions.
