Tax Transparency in Asia 2023: Asia Initiative Progress Report is a key output of the Asia Initiative, a regional programme launched in 2021 and focused on developing tailored solutions to ensure the implementation of the global tax transparency standards across Asia. It was presented and published on Thursday 27 April 2023, during the opening sessions of the Fourth Asia Initiative Meeting, which was held in New Delhi, India.

The report retraces Asia’s journey from 2009 to 2022 and reflects the progress achieved in the past 14 years. It highlights how Asian member countries benefit from the Global Forum’s capacity-building programme to further implement the exchange of information and mobilise domestic revenues.

This is the first edition of what will be a series of annual reports, as part of the various efforts to advance transparency and exchange of information for tax purposes in Asia.
