The Steering Group Meeting of the MENA-OECD Initiative on Governance and Competitiveness for Development
The Steering Group Meeting of the MENA-OECD Initiative on Governance and Competitiveness for Development gathers the co-chairs of the Initiative and representatives from MENA and OECD governments to reflect strategically on the Initiative.
The meeting will be an opportunity for participants to exchange on how collaborative initiatives can help the region face global challenges and build more robust and inclusive economies, as well as to share their views on the strategic priorities of the MENA-OECD Initiative for 2023 halfway through the implementation of its fifth mandate for 2021-25. The meeting will also take stock of progress achieved in the implementation of the 2021 MENA-OECD Ministerial Declaration in 2021-22.
The Steering Group Meeting will be held on 16 May. It will benefit from the preceding MENA-OECD Forums on Governance and Competitiveness, which will be held on 15 May. It will bring an inclusive perspective from high-level discussions and technical roundtables on priorities developed by the Initiative’s Working Groups and Networks. Invitees to the Steering Group Meeting of the MENA-OECD Initiative include senior representatives from governments, private sector and civil society organisations from OECD and MENA economies. A special invitation is extended to the co-chairs of the Working Groups and Networks to provide strategic guidance on the work programme.
