This paper presents a comparative analysis of government SME decarbonisation policies across seven OECD countries (Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Korea, Spain, and the United Kingdom), covering the following policy areas: awareness-raising and training, investment support, emissions monitoring and compliance with sustainability reporting requirements, and green public procurement. Special attention in the paper is also given to the role of non-governmental stakeholders in the delivery of SME greening programmes, including business associations, universities, technology institutes and financial institutions. The comparative analysis builds on individual country case studies, available online, which allow for a more in-depth analysis of national approaches to SME decarbonisation policies.
