The Geo Big Data Open Platform, run by Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM), provides data based on Creative Commons (CC) licenses. Other online open data repositories operated by public research institutes in Korea also use open licenses. Additionally, domestic repositories participating in the Korean Research Memory (KRM) Project release their data with open licenses.

Background
Copy link to BackgroundKIGAM developed this platform to support data-driven research and facilitate the sharing of geoscience data generated from national R&D projects. The platform offers over 3,000 high-quality research datasets and access to more than 130,000 research reports and papers as of March 2023.
The KIGAM's Geoscience Data Center was established in 2018 and has been developing the Geo Big Data Platform since then.
