The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) outlines the framework for future research, development, and innovation activities related to EOSC. Its primary goal is to establish an operational "Web of FAIR data and services" for science, promoting open science practices and enhancing the accessibility and interoperability of research data across Europe. The SRIA serves as a guiding document for the EOSC Partnership, detailing objectives and priorities for the development and implementation of EOSC over a seven-year period. It results from a collective, forward-looking co-creation process to identify and prioritize complementary activities at EU, national, and institutional levels. The implementation of the SRIA is supported through various funding mechanisms, including European Union programs such as Horizon Europe, national research funding agencies, and contributions from participating institutions. These funding sources collectively support the initiatives and projects outlined in the SRIA, ensuring the advancement of open science practices and the development of the EOSC infrastructure.

Background
Copy link to BackgroundEOSC creates a federation of existing European data infrastructures, integrating high-capacity cloud solutions and expanding the scope of these services to include users from the public sector and industry. Efforts focus on data culture, research data services, federated architecture, and co-funding. An EOSC Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) has been co-developed to set the general, specific and operational objectives and the related action areas of the EOSC European co-programmed partnership until
2030. It includes the development and deployment of EOSC foundations and federating services as well as EOSC value-added services for scientists.
Objective(s)
