This report was prepared as part of the OECD project Resourcing School Education: Policies for the Digital Transformation of Education and Future-Readiness of Teachers. The project was launched in 2023 to support countries in designing system-level policies that enable their school sectors to achieve excellence, equity and resilience in the digital age. The project is comprised of three thematic strands:
“Policies for the digital transformation of school education” (Strand 1), which aims to support education systems in creating a comprehensive and integrated system-level policy environment and ecosystem that enables an effective and equitable use of digital resources.
“Policies for a future-ready teaching profession in the digital age” (Strand 2), which aims to support education systems in re-designing their teacher policies to leverage the current digital transformation momentum and advance the profession’s transformation for the future.
“Policies for efficient investments in school education” (Strand 3), which aims to support education systems in more efficiently mobilising and using education resources to foster inclusive growth and to enhance societal outcomes.
The project pursues these goals with a combination of country-specific policy analysis, comparative analytical work and international peer learning. Its work is guided by an analytical framework covering system-level policies related to digital education and the preparation of future-ready teachers (Figure A.1).
