This study examines the skills strategies developed and implemented across the European Union (EU) over the past decade to identify nine key lessons that illuminate the essential characteristics of successful approaches. These lessons serve as a valuable resource for policymakers looking to develop or update skills strategies. The study’s findings are based on an analysis of 26 skills strategies, supported by desktop research, stakeholder consultations, and expert meetings for selected case studies. This brief summarises the nine lessons for policymakers.
