Health workers in OECD countries report high levels of mental ill-health, physical harm and poor well-being. In the United States and United Kingdom, burnout affects over a third of healthcare workers. Poor-quality work environments contribute to low job satisfaction and can lead to workers leaving the health sector. This policy brief explores findings from national efforts to assess health workers’ views on their work environment.
