Boosting productivity growth in the Autonomous Province of Trento (Trentino, Italy) is critical for addressing global challenges, including labour shortages and an ageing population. This paper presents in-depth analyses into some of the potential drivers of productivity growth in Trentino. It identifies four key areas: enabling firm growth regardless of size; leveraging public research to enhance innovation and knowledge transfer to local firms; deepening integration into global markets for goods and services; and enabling wage growth through a shift toward more productive sectors and enhanced labour mobility.
