The 2023 wave of OECD Trust Survey was administered by the OECD Directorate for Public Governance and collected survey responses from 58,230 adults across thirty participating countries. These countries were Australia, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. The data collection took place along very similar timelines in those 30 OECD countries, ranging from September 20th to December 12th, 2023. In Slovenia, the survey was collected between October 26th and November 28th.
In Slovenia and 23 other countries, the surveys were conducted online by the market research firm Ipsos. The OECD Secretariat coordinated with the OECD procurement office to establish an agreement with Ipsos following an open and transparent market competition. For other countries, survey responses were collected by national statistical offices (in the cases of Finland, Ireland, Mexico, and the United Kingdom), research institutes (Iceland), or survey companies selected by the respective country (Norway).
The 2023 Trust Survey in Slovenia was collected from a total number of 2,019 respondents with 68% response rate. The detailed sample composition is provided in Table A A.1. On average, the survey took 13 minutes and 18 seconds among the Slovenian respondents. To facilitate comparisons across years, most of the 2021 survey questions were preserved, though some were revised or deleted, and some other new topics were introduced. In addition to the core 2023 Trust Survey questionnaire, two additional country-specific questions were asked in Slovenia. These questions pertained to individuals' primary sources of information regarding government actions, as well as the frequency with which they encounter or seek out such information.
