Mathematical performance, as assessed by PISA, measures the ability of 15-year-olds to use mathematics to solve real-world problems.
It evaluates how well students can formulate, apply, and interpret mathematics in various contexts. A mathematically literate student is able to use mathematics to describe, predict and explain phenomena, and make well-founded decisions as an engaged and informed citizen. An asterisk (*) next to the name of a country or economy indicates that caution is needed when interpreting the results, as one or more PISA sampling standards were not met
This indicator is measured as a mean score.
