This guide presents 12 guidelines to enhance well-being and resilience in regions hosting mining activities and support the competitiveness of mining projects. The guidelines build on the work of the OECD’s Mining Regions and Cities Initiative since 2017, drawing on regional studies, conferences and data analysis, as well as the perspectives of national and regional stakeholders across OECD countries. Each guideline includes specific actions and sub-actions, illustrated by practical examples from OECD mining regions. The guide also updates the data toolkit for measuring well-being in mining regions.
