CODATA and RDA provide international training by offering best practices and training materials. The School of Research Data Science is a programme of short courses equipping young researchers globally with core data skills.
The CODATA-RDA Schools of Research Data Science is an international initiative dedicated to equipping early-career researchers, particularly from Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs), with foundational data science skills essential for contemporary research.
Since its inception, the initiative has organized numerous schools worldwide, including in Trieste (Italy), São Paulo (Brazil), Kigali (Rwanda), and Brisbane (Australia). These schools have trained researchers in essential data science skills, fostering a global community of data practitioners. Educational materials and resources from past schools are available online, supporting continuous learning and capacity building.
The program covers a range of topics, including:
- Research data management and the data lifecycle.
- Open science principles and practices.
- Data visualization techniques.
- Computational research infrastructures.
- Machine learning and statistical analysis.
