On 20 August 2024, VAE Abogados, a law firm representing the Chilean company Paralelo Films SpA, submitted a specific instance to the Spanish NCP alleging that a Spanish multinational that operates in the international passenger transport sector had not observed the General Policies (Chapter II), Disclosure (Chapter III), and Science, Technology and Innovation (Chapter IX) provisions of the Guidelines. Specifically, the submitter alleges that the Spanish enterprise did not apply sufficient due diligence regarding its relationship with its suppliers of films, notably concerning their emission rights. Further issues concerned protection of intellectual property rights.
The Spanish NCP conducted an initial assessment and, on 10 February 2025, published a statement deciding not to accept the specific instance for futher examination as the issues raised were not covered by the Guidelines given they largely concerned a contractual dispute of a civil nature.
