On 6 August 2024, the International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco, and Allied Workers’ Associations (IUF) submitted a specific instance to the Luxembourg NCP alleging that Batipart S.C.A., institutional investor and majority owner of Onomo Hotels (Onomo), had not observed the General Policies (Chapter II), Human Rights (Chapter IV) and Employment and Industrial Relations (Chapter V) provisions of the Guidelines. Specifically, issues concerned interference with employees’ rights to unionise, retaliatory actions against union supporters, discriminatory subcontracting, and a failure to engage in genuine collective bargaining.
On 30 April 2025, the Luxembourg NCP published its Initial Assessment, deciding to accept the case for further examination. The NCP offered its good offices to the parties, and both the IUF and Batipart accepted.
