OECD Financial Markets Week brings together senior officials from ministries of finance, central banks, financial regulators and other relevant bodies to discuss recent developments in financial markets and develop consensus-based policies. The Fall 2026 Financial Markets Week will be held on 2-6 November 2026 and include:

A meeting of the OECD Committee on Financial Markets (CMF)
Meetings of the CMF’s four Working Parties: the Working Party on Financial Consumer Protection, Education and Inclusion; the Working Party on Insurance and Pensions; the Working Party on Debt Management; and the Working Party on Sustainable Finance
The OECD Forum on Global Financial Markets

The Week will also include the launch of four publications during events open to the public (more information will be made available shortly):

Overview of Fall 2026 Financial Markets Week

The last Financial Markets Week (March 2026) included the launch of four reports:

It also included the Roundtable on Global Financial Markets “The Mounting Debt Challenge”.

The Committee on Financial Markets is composed of OECD countries, accession candidate countries and the EU. It meets twice a year. The Bank for International Settlements (BIS), Financial Stability Board (FSB), International Monetary Fund (IMF) and International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) also participate in the Committee.

Calendar of meetings

The OECD Roundtable on Global Financial Markets promotes engagement and co-operation between the OECD’s community of financial policy makers and regulators, industry stakeholders and financial market experts. Held during the biannual OECD Financial Markets Week, each edition has a thematic focus on cross-cutting market developments and policy issues. The Fall 2026 edition will focus on retail investment. The launch of the OECD Global Debt Report 2026
Three sessions:
- Session I – Sovereign bonds in advanced economies: Who will buy them and at what price?
- Session II – Global corporate debt markets: Adjusting to a new reality
- Session III – EMDE sovereign debt markets: Closing the gap

The 149^th Session of the OECD Committee on Financial Markets will take place on 5-6 November. The draft agenda will be made available here (access restricted to delegates).

The Committee on Financial Markets works to promote efficient, open, stable and sound financial systems, based on high levels of transparency, confidence, and integrity, in order to contribute to sustainable and inclusive growth. The Committee is chaired by Mr Seiichi Shimizu, Assistant Governor, Bank of Japan. More information on the Committee is available here.

The Working Party on Financial Consumer Protection, Education and Inclusion will meet on 2-4 November. The meeting will be organised with the OECD International Network on Financial Education (INFE). The agenda will be made available here (access restricted to delegates).

The Working Party on Financial Consumer Protection, Education and Inclusion (WPFCPEI) works to promote efficient, open, stable and sound financial systems at a citizen level by supporting the protection, inclusion, empowerment and education of individuals as they deal with financial products, services and providers in the interests of supporting fair and responsible treatment, consumer trust and confidence, and financial well-being. Mr Colm Kincaid, Deputy Governor for Consumer and Investor Protection, Central Bank of Ireland, serves as the Chair of the WPFCPEI. More information on the WPFCPEI is available here.

The Working Party on Insurance and Pensions (WPIP) works to promote fair, efficient, open and sound market-oriented insurance and pensions systems, based on high levels of transparency, confidence, and integrity. The WPIP is co-chaired by Ms Nausicaa Delfas, Chief Executive Officer, The Pensions Regulator, United Kingdom, and Steven Seitz, Director of the Federal Insurance Office (FIO), United States Department of the Treasury. The Working Party on Debt Management (WPDM) aims to improve senior government debt managers’ ability to deliver on the primary debt and cash management objective, which is to ensure government financing requirements are met at all times and at the lowest possible cost over the medium to long run, consistent with a prudent level of risk. The WPDM is chaired by Mr Grahame Johnson, Advisor to the Governor, Bank of Canada. More information on the Working Party is available here.
