Quantum technologies are moving from scientific potential towards real-world deployment, promising breakthroughs with far-reaching economic and societal benefits, while raising pressing questions related to digital security, privacy and national security. The field is characterised by interdependences, including shared challenges in science and engineering, and globally dispersed supply chains and talent pools, among others.
Co-organised with the support of Finland, Japan, Korea and the United Kingdom, this 2026 OECD Ministerial Council Meeting side event will explore countries’ strategic visions for unlocking the transformative potential of quantum technologies while managing their risks, both domestically and through international co-operation.
