The Roundtable on Governing for Infrastructure Resilience will bring together senior officials, policy leaders, investors and private sector experts to share experiences and best practices for delivering resilient infrastructure. The discussions will focus on how countries can effectively govern, plan, prioritise, finance, and design infrastructure that can withstand natural, human, health, and cyber risks.
Ensuring the continuity of essential services - including water, transport, energy, telecommunications, health and education - is key to competitiveness, productivity, and citizens’ living standards. Yet countries face growing challenges from aging infrastructure, climate-related disasters, environmental degradation, and geopolitical instability. Responding effectively requires infrastructure that can be delivered quickly, adapted to demographic and economic shifts, and designed to maximise value for money.
Organised by the OECD Public Governance Directorate in partnership with the BDN, the roundtable will explore solutions to streamline regulatory procedures, accelerate permitting, and leverage new technologies such as AI to improve procurement, project evaluation, and infrastructure management - while also managing associated risks.
