Although younger women have surpassed their male peers in educational attainment, a persistent gender pay gap remains across OECD countries. Differences in unpaid care responsibilities, gendered education and career choices, and enduring stereotypes and discrimination all contribute to this imbalance. This panel explores policy concepts and practical experiences that address the root causes of persistent gender inequality in the workplace and offer pathways to closing the gender pay gap. We will discuss country experiences where targeted policies and interventions have shown real impact, offering lessons to guide broader efforts toward gender equality at work.
