The Government of Indonesia and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) are collaborating on a project focusing on industry decarbonisation, with BAPPENAS and the Centre for Green Industry of the Ministry of Industry as the main government focal points. This project is part of the Sustainable Infrastructure Programme in Asia (SIPA), which is supported by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection.
This project builds on the OECD’s ‘Framework for Industry’s net-zero Transition’, which is a step-by-step approach to assist emerging and developing economies by providing recommendations on enabling conditions and financing instruments that can support the decarbonisation of specific industry sub-sectors. In that context, the textile and iron and steel sectors have been selected as the sectors of interest for implementing this program.
The knowledge sharing workshop has two objectives: to share knowledge and raise awareness on industrial heat pumps, and to learn from international experiences. The first aim includes knowledge on technology and market development, understanding the benefits in terms of energy savings and CO2 emissions. The second objective highlights implemented projects and key conditions for success, alongside the various policy and financing instruments to support the deployment of industrial heat/ energy efficiency in the industry.
