Under the OECD-Egypt Country Programme, the OECD hosted two stakeholder meetings that brought together approximately 200 national and international experts.
- On 30 January 2024, in partnership with UNIDO, the first meeting brought together representatives from seven line-ministries where participants discussed the implementation timeline, scope, methodology and planned deliverables.
- On 29 May 2024, the OECD organised a second stakeholder meeting with the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), fostering an in-depth discussion on the opportunities and challenges of financing and utilising low-carbon hydrogen with specific emphasis on perspectives from Egypt’s domestic industry players.
Building on the insights from these stakeholder meetings, the third meeting (i) presented key findings of the Framework's implementation in preparation of the final country report that is planned for release by end of 2025, and (ii) presented key findings of international case studies related to transmission grid financing in different countries and different electricity market settings, as well as options for Egypt.
