Countries have adopted policy approaches at different points in time. Approaches in place in 2024 may have been introduced recently or many years earlier.

Note: This graph shows the date of adoption for all policy instruments still in place as of 2024. Instrument adopted before 2024 but since abolished, do not show in this graph.

The dashboard provides an overview of the range of policy approaches adopted by IFCMA member countries included in the database. It includes approaches from all seven groups covered in the database.  

Click on bubbles and hover to reveal additional insights, including information on the regulated assets and agents and the objective of countries’ policy approaches. The size of each bubble indicates the number of approaches adopted for that group in the selected country. 

Economic agents targeted by policy approaches vary across countries and instruments. For example, some approaches target households, while others apply to firms or government entities.
