Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes

Enhanced tax transparency and exchange of information have helped uncover at least EUR 135 billion in additional revenues since 2009, of which about EUR 48 billion identified by developing countries.

76 jurisdictions are formally committed to implement the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework, with most set to begin automatic exchange of information on crypto-asset transactions by 2027. 

The Global Forum Secretariat delivered bilateral technical assistance to 111 jurisdictions in 2025, the highest figure since the launch of its capacity-building programme in 2011. 

The Global Forum capacity-building programme contributed to build the capacities of more than 20 000 tax officials in 2025, through training events, e-learning courses and special programmes.

91% of the jurisdictions fully reviewed in the second round of peer reviews on transparency and exchange of information on request are rated “Compliant” or “Largely Compliant”.

63% of the jurisdictions assessed in the first round of reviews on automatic exchange of financial account information are “On track” with their implementation of the Common Reporting Standard.
