​Recent policy developments on AI in the labour market

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly shaping labour markets, bringing both significant opportunities and risks for workers, firms and societies, and making it a growing policy priority. This publication reviews recent policy measures related to AI in the labour market in G7 countries, the European Union and selected Latin American economies across six policy areas: automation, productivity, skills and inclusiveness; privacy and data protection; non-discrimination; occupational safety and health; transparency, explainability and accountability; and social dialogue. Across most policy areas, AI-related issues are primarily addressed through existing labour market policy frameworks, rather than through stand-alone AI policies. Policies explicitly targeted at AI in the labour market are most developed for AI skills and adoption, while measures and guidance are still emerging in other policy areas, particularly privacy, transparency and accountability.
