This Education Policy Perspective explores possible paths forward for policy makers in Brazil seeking to connect education, arts and culture. Drawing on analysis of OECD data, international policy examples, and insights from Policy Dialogues in Focus seminar with education system stakeholders in Brazil, this policy paper explores 1) international data, evidence and country experiences regarding connecting education to arts and culture and 2) the current state of artistic and cultural engagement for school-aged learners in Brazil, outlining core considerations for Brazil. The Policy Dialogues in Focus seminar from the Education Policy Outlook brought together federal and subnational policy makers, civil society actors and researchers in Brazil as well as policy makers from Colombia, France and Germany.
