This report provides an update on developments in the OECD’s tax work since the last Secretary-General report in April, with a focus on the role tax policy can play in supporting business dynamism and economic growth. Highlighting ongoing research by the OECD, the report explores how corporate income tax (CIT) policies can support business dynamism – by examining the effects of tax rates, compliance costs, loss-offset provisions, financing frictions and competitive distortions – and provides an overview of how tax policy can support a more dynamic and competitive business environment. It links the work on CIT to a holistic approach towards dynamism and notes areas for further exploration. It was prepared by the OECD ahead of the third G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors' Meeting under the United States G20 Presidency, held 15 October 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.
