OECD countries face an ageing population and workforce, a trend that also affects the public service. This report highlights the specific challenges encountered by employees aged 50 and over. Despite the relatively low level of prioritisation of this issue across public administrations, the report underscores the importance of developing targeted human resource management policies for older workers as part of a broader multigenerational workforce strategy. It also presents examples of innovative policies implemented in public administrations and companies across the EU and OECD countries to adapt career paths, develop new skills and strengthen support for employees.
