This paper is the first in a series of OECD Education Policy Perspectives analysing the role and activities of different types of educational organisations in reinforcing the research-practice-policy links. They are developed as part of the OECD’s Evidence Web for Education (EWE) project, funded by the UniCredit Foundation. EWE seeks to strengthen the capacity of evidence intermediaries and aims to make the thoughtful and systematic use of evidence a reality in education policy and practice.
This document was authored by François Staring, an Analyst in the OECD’s Evidence Web for Education (EWE) Team in the OECD’s Centre for Educational Research and Innovation (CERI), Directorate for Education and Skills. Nóra Révai (Project Lead, EWE Team) advised the development of the document. Editorial and publication support were provided by Aurelija Masiulyte, Sophie Limoges and Rachel Linden. Overall guidance was provided by Edmund Misson (Head of Innovation and Measuring Progress, Directorate for Education and Skills) and Andreas Schleicher (Director, OECD Directorate for Education and Skills).
Feedback and comments were provided by OECD colleagues Melissa Mouthaan, José Manuel-Torres and Lawrence Houldsworth. The document also draws on valuable inputs received from Eve Eisenschmidt (Professor of Educational Leadership, Tallinn University, Estonia) as a selected international expert and external peer reviewer.
