This report was produced in the framework of the project “24LU02 & 24SK01 Developing Health System Performance Assessment Frameworks for Luxembourg and Slovakia”. The project has been funded by the European Union via the Technical Support Instrument, and implemented by the OECD, in co‑operation with the European Commission.
The report was drafted by the OECD HSPA team at the Health Division, Directorate for Employment, Labour, and Social Affairs, OECD, with inputs from Martin Smatana (on Section 3.2 and Annex B), and in co‑operation with the Slovak Project Management Team (Veronika Lane Rybanská, Juraj Hunák, Terézia Mračková from the Institute for Health Analyses, Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic).
The authors would like to thank the experts and representatives of Slovak national authorities and stakeholders who shared their views, made suggestions, provided input and feedback during the whole project of developing the Slovak Republic’s HSPA framework, populating it with indicators, and preparation of this report. Special gratitude is extended to the members of the Slovak Principal Working Group, members of the project’s High-Level Advisory Board, and participants of the technical focus groups who participated in the meetings, workshops and other activities throughout the project. These include, among others, representatives from the National Health Information Centre (NCZI), health insurance companies and their Association, the Public Health Authority, the Healthcare Surveillance Authority, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic, the Institute for Health Analyses (IZA) and other departments of the Ministry of Health, as well as representatives of patients, providers, and regions. The full list of Slovak stakeholder organisations who participated in the HSPA project and contributed to its outcome – the Slovak Republic’s HSPA framework and HSPA indicators – is in Section 1.2.3.
The OECD HSPA team would also like to thank the Slovak Project Management Team and the SG REFORM for their excellent co‑operation, support and insightful feedback during the report drafting process, and Professor Niek Klazinga for his guidance throughout the Slovak HSPA development process.
