| AI | Artificial intelligence. Throughout this publication, the definition of an AI system will be as followed: “An AI system is a machine-based system that, for explicit or implicit objectives, infers, from the input it receives, how to generate outputs such as predictions, content, recommendations, or decisions that can influence physical or virtual environments. Different AI systems vary in their levels of autonomy and adaptiveness after deployment”. This definition encompasses various types of AI, some of which are already in use within governments. The OECD Framework for the Classification of AI Systems provides a set of tools to characterise the application of an AI system deployed in a specific context. |
