This Guidance Document describes an Integrated Approach to Testing and Assessment (IATA) for serious eye damage and eye irritation hazard identification. The Guidance Document also provides key information characteristics of each individual information source comprising the IATA, as well as guidance on how and when to integrate existing and/or newly generated information for decision-making. This is the third edition of the document, originally published in 2017. The project was on the Test Guidelines Programme work plan until 2024. This third edition includes recently adopted information sources (new Test Guidelines on in vitro methods and defined approaches, e.g. TG 492B, TG 467) and how these can be used within an integrated approach.
