Public support for agriculture has reached new record levels as governments made efforts to shield consumers and producers from global crises and high inflation. The 2023 edition of the Agricultural Policy Monitoring and Evaluation shows that total support to agriculture reached USD 851 billion per year during 2020-22 in the 54 countries monitored, representing nearly a 2.5-fold increase compared to two decades ago.
