Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes

The Global Forum has been providing capacity-building assistance to its members since 2011, and reducing gender gaps in member jurisdictions is one of the goals of its capacity-building strategy. As part of this effort, the Global Forum Secretariat started mainstreaming gender equality considerations and monitoring the gender balance of its capacity-building activities, in particular trainings.

The Women Leaders in Tax Transparency (WLiTT) programme further reinforces this ambition. This flagship initiative aims at promoting female leadership in tax administrations and ministries of finance and developing sustainable capacities in tax transparency. Following the success of the first four editions organised since 2022, the Global Forum is launching a fifth edition of the WLiTT programme in 2026.

“Four years ago, the Global Forum launched this programme out of the strong conviction that women working at the heart of exchange of information needed a space to be visible, to connect, and to strengthen one another’s voices. Four years later, what began as a vision has become a vibrant and resilient community, rich in talent and built on solidarity, knowledge‑sharing and collective ambition. Yet progress demands persistence and to make this vision a whole reality, we must stay the course and maintain our efforts to amplifying women’s voices even further and open doors wider. It is with deep pride that I take on the role of patron of the 2026 Women Leaders in Tax Transparency programme. Supporting this programme’s next chapter is both a personal honour and a testament to my continued belief in the power of women to shape, protect and advance the exchange of information.”
