18/06/2024 – The Global Forum is assisting Tunisia in determining best strategies for using automatically-exchanged data on financial accounts (AEOI data), which the country will start receiving in 2025. Experts from the Global Forum Secretariat led a seminar in Tunis on 11-13 June 2024 on the use of AEOI data. The event brought together exchange of information officers, tax auditors, officers in charge of recovery of tax claims and IT analysts and engineers from the Tunisian tax administration.

The seminar provided an opportunity to explore the full range of options for exploiting AEOI data, to enhance taxpayers' compliance, control high-risk non-compliant taxpayers, and to improve existing tax processes, particularly tax collection. Participants discussed the existing constraints for each of these opportunities and potential solutions to reap the full benefits of AEOI.
During the seminar, the Global Forum Secretariat also presented the various tools and methods available for data cleansing and matching.
