The 2024 Global Forum Capacity Building Report sheds light on the Global Forum’s capacity-building and outreach activities carried out in 2023 in support of the implementation of the tax transparency standards, especially the exchange of information on request (EOIR) and the automatic exchange of financial account information (AEOI). It includes numerous figures, case studies and testimonies reflecting the very impactful results achieved so far.
Launched in 2011 and responding to the growing share of developing countries within the Global Forum membership, the Global Forum Secretariat's capacity-building programme has expanded over the years to cover new areas. Its multipronged activities are empowering jurisdictions all over the world in their fight against tax evasion and other illicit financial flows, ultimately helping them enhance their domestic resource mobilisation. Globally, developing countries have reported identifying at least EUR 41 billion in additional revenues through voluntary disclosure programmes and offshore tax investigations since 2009.
