10/10/2023 – A delegation from the Global Forum Secretariat visited Tunis from 2 to 6 October 2023 to support Tunisia in strengthening its confidentiality and data protection framework. This framework is critical for the implementation of the standard of automatic exchange of information of financial account information for tax purposes (AEOI).

Global Forum Secretariat supports Tunisia in strengthening its confidentiality and data safeguards framework
Experts from the Global Forum Secretariat worked with the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI) and the IT Centre of the Ministry of Finances (CIMF) on the confidentiality and data safeguards measures to implement for optimal results.

The Global Forum is the leading multilateral body mandated to ensure that jurisdictions around the world adhere to and effectively implement both the exchange of information on request standard and the standard of automatic exchange of information. These objectives are achieved through a robust monitoring and peer review process. The Global Forum also runs an extensive capacity-building programme to support its members in implementing the standards and help tax authorities make the best use of cross-border information sharing channels.
