The study visit is organised by the OECD Trento Centre for Local Development and the OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Programme , in collaboration with the Emilia-Romagna region (Italy) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Germany.
The regional study visit will take place in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, a region recognised for its advanced innovation ecosystem and well-coordinated support systems for the digital transformation of SMEs. Building on a strong tradition of collaboration between public authorities, research institutions and businesses, Emilia-Romagna has developed integrated policy frameworks and infrastructures that support innovation, competitiveness and sustainable growth across sectors.
The study visit will provide participants with first-hand insights into how these approaches are designed and implemented in practice, with a particular focus on digitalisation, innovation support services and place-based development strategies. It will bring together policymakers from Emilia-Romagna and representatives of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
