The OECD's Clean Energy Finance and Investment Mobilisation (CEFIM) Programme, MEMR's Human Resources Development Centre for Electricity, New and Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation, and OJK Institute, jointly organised this 1.5 day training on energy efficiency financing for financial institutions, insurance providers and public sector officials working on mobilising investment in energy efficiency.
This training aimed to strengthen capacities of almost 40 participants from the three core stakeholder groups that will be instrumental in achieving Indonesia's clean energy transition. It also provided a unique platform to facilitate the creation of a community of practice, share experiences and develop new ideas to support innovative financing and risk mitigation solutions for energy efficiency projects.
The training programme comprised lectures, expert presentations from Indonesian stakeholders, case study examples and interactive group work. The course covered the importance and benefits of energy efficiency, enabling policy and regulatory frameworks, specific barriers and risks for energy efficiency projects, project appraisal and risk assessment, as well as different financing and risk mitigation instruments, including energy savings insurance.
