Winter School for Regional Development

The Winter School combined presentations with hands-on and practice oriented approach, which helped participants to better comprehend megatrends, challenges and opportunities for local development.

Every day included dedicated sessions for field visits, case pitches and peer-learning, designed to promote the exchange of concrete practices and real-world experiences. Participants engaged with international and local experts, listened to testimonies, explored projects and places of interest, and worked together in interactive sessions to enable the sharing of valuable insights, key concepts and lessons. Participants also had the opportunity to present ideas, collaborative proposals and completed projects, and to share their work with one another to support networking, strengthen connections and foster potential new collaborations.

The capacity building was targeted at those working in regional development, such as Regional Development Agencies (RDAs), local, regional and national administrations, and PhD and postdoctoral students specialising in regional development.

Participants should have been strongly committed to regional development, innovation, development and implementation of EU R&I and/or Cohesion policy. Ideally, they were employed by national or regional development agencies or technological agencies.

• Candidates needed to submit duly compiled application via this form online by 8 January 2026, 12:00 CET.
• Candidates were encouraged to propose a topic for a short presentation of their project on a theme of the Winter School..
• Participants were notified by the organisers by 13 January 2026.  Priority was given to members of the EURADA Association. If the number of applications exceeded the number of available places, participants were selected on the basis of professional attainment and work experience.

A tuition fee of €400.00 for EURADA members (€500.00 for non-EURADA members) was foreseen for the Winter School.

The organisers covered transportation costs in Sevilla as well as coffee-breaks, lunches and a dinner during the Winter School, whereas accommodation, travel to Sevilla expenses, medical insurance, entry visa application charges (if required for the specific home country), dinners and other personal expenses not specified in the Winter School agenda, were borne by selected participants. The modalities of the payment (due on 28 January 2026) were detailed in the communication of the result of the application.
