9:30 – 11:00 – Session 3: Turning FFD4 into practice: Triangular co-operation as a lever for financing sustainable development
11:00 – 11:30 – Coffee break
11:30 – 13:00 – Parallel tracks
Strategy track – From commitment to action: strategic next steps
How to turn a crisis into opportunities for triangular co-operation
Following the discussions in plenary session 1 on the future of triangular and development co-operation, this session aims to provide concrete actions and inputs on fostering horizontal partnerships to tackle development challenges by pooling resources of different partners.
Systems track – Co-lab to jointly identify solutions
Building agile systems for triangular co-operation – seizing the moment
During discussions in the 2024 co-lab, administrative burdens and overwhelming requirements emerged as top challenges holding our systems back in triangular co-operation. In this session, participants will collaborate to identify and ideate solutions for slimmer and more efficient ways of engaging – also with a view to working more with partners beyond governments.
Project track – Speed networking: Linking partners and project ideas
Meeting different partners – building strong triangular partnerships
Triangular co-operation projects can follow different and, in many cases, unexpected trajectories. Some emerge or are embedded in bilateral projects, some others are linked to regional and global platforms, in other cases, triangular cooperation allows to fill a knowledge gap that leads to other initiatives in different modalities.
Participants in this session will exchange triangular project stories and meet a variety of partners or avenues of project implementation to inspire future initiatives.
13:00 – 14:00 – Lunch
14:00 - 15:15 – Parallel tracks
Strategy track – Re-thinking the system and adapting strategies to work in a new context
Foresight exercises on triangular co-operation have signalled possible actions as good bets to prepare for the future.
Systems track – Assessing results to scale up triangular co-operation
In times of scarce funding, creative ways are needed to scale up results. Effective documentation, analysis, and communication of results are key to scaling up triangular co-operation. This session explores what is missing in our systems to use data, monitoring, and evaluation to strengthen partnerships, catalyse greater results, and drive further investment.
Project track – Meeting new partners – identifying what is possible in triangular co-operation
This session focuses on extracting examples of good practices in project implementation that make partnerships work, balance power dynamics, and maintain the rhythm of the partnership.
15:15 – 15:45 – Coffee Break
15:45 – 16:15 – Wrap-up and main messages from the three tracks
16:15 – 17:30 – Session 4: Connecting the dots between different triangular co-operation processes globally – next steps and agenda for action until 2026
In the final session, the speakers will share inputs for next steps and their reflections on the two days of discussion. As we look ahead, participants will also identify follow-up activities and ideas for advancing strategies, systems and project implementation in the lead-up to the next international meeting on triangular co-operation.
