Smart Data and Digital Technology in Education: Conference in Delhi

With the emergence of artificial intelligence, human intelligence is in a fast-paced catch-up race. AI is quickly permeating every sphere of life and activity. What does it mean for education? How is AI changing jobs and learning in the classroom? How is AI redefining the role of teachers? How will Indian languages handle artificial intelligence? What should the policy makers do to ensure that our children understand the ethical issues involved in AI? These issues and more are going to be discussed and deliberated at the two-day international conference titled AI in Education for Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

This two‑day conference organised under the OECD Centre for Educational Research and Innovation’s project Smart Data and Digital Technology in Education will bring together policy makers, industry leaders, AI experts as well as teachers and other education stakeholders to discuss the opportunities and challenges of AI in education, with a focus on India, Indian states and comparable middle income countries with specific challenges of access, of AI literacy for teachers and students, and other challenges such as language.

The second day workshop will provide participants with practical discussions. In particular, guidelines on the use of effective and equitable use of AI in education will be discuss, with an emphasis on generative AI (such as large language models).

All Speakers are to be on-site, circumstances permitting. Attendance in person is highly recommended for all participants, to enhance interaction and communication.

Additionally, the sessions will be streamed live for those who wish to join remotely. Priority will be given to questions from those present on-site during the discussion periods.
