This navigator features government initiatives to promote responsible business conduct, drawing on the experiences from the 52 countries that have adhered to the OECD Recommendation on the Role of Government in Promoting Responsible Business Conduct. The Recommendation lays out a comprehensive set of principles to assist governments, other public authorities, and relevant stakeholders in designing and implementing policies that enable and promote responsible business conduct. The navigator provides practical, real-world examples of how governments are translating the principles of the Recommendation into concrete action.
The government initiatives featured in the navigator were identified by the OECD through desktop research. Countries that adhere to the Recommendation submitted additional examples. The purpose of the navigator is to provide examples, and not an exhaustive overview of all initiatives in all countries. It seeks to support governments in promoting responsible business conduct by identifying current practices, offering an opportunity to learn from experience.
