Silvia da Rin Pagnetto is the Head of Management of the Cabinet of the Secretary-General.
In this position, she supports the Secretary-General and the Chief of Staff in the follow up and implementation of the strategic objectives of the organisation. She provides strategic advice to the Secretary-General regarding his agenda commitments. She also overviews the workflow within the Cabinet, assigning the distribution of assignments to advisors, supporting the preparatory work as needed, and ensuring that deadlines are met. She supervises the team that prepares the Secretary-General’s missions, meetings and documents, IT matters, correspondence, and the organisation of internal meetings. In addition, she works as an Advisor to the Secretary-General, with a portfolio mainly focused on the relations with Latin America and the Caribbean.
She brings extensive experience at the United Nations with positions both in the field and Headquarters at UNESCO, UNDP, and most recently at UNFPA as Chief of the Executive Board. She also spent two years as Senior Advisor to the former President of Uruguay, Mr. José Mujica, and before that was the Academia Director of the Department of International Affairs at Sciences Po in Paris.
A dual Italian and Uruguayan national, Silvia holds a Master's degree in International Relations from Sciences Po and a Master's degree in Economy and Law from Sorbonne University.
